Virginia State Feed Association Scholarship |

Funds of the Virginia State Feed Association Scholarship Program will be supplied in the form of a one time $2,000 check to the recipient. The funds to support the program will be held in a designated account to be used for this purpose at the option of the Virginia State Feed Association Steering Committee. One scholarship will be awarded each year at the VSFA Winter Conference. News releases and other pertinent information about the recipients will be supplied to the Virginia State Feed Association each year for publicity purposes.
Criteria for Selection of Scholarship Recipients:

The recipient must be a rising junior or senior in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in any field of study relating to agriculture at an accredited university of their choice.

Recipient must be a student with permanent residence in the state of Virginia. Preference will be given to students with references from VSFA members and/or farm or rural background.

Academic achievement. Students should achieve a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average, and a 2.75 grade point average in major coursework. Transfer students must have an equivalent of a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average at their previous institution.

Recipients of these scholarships will be chosen by the Steering Committee of the VSFA according to the following criteria:

Applications accompanied by a brief description (500 words max.) outlining how the recipient hopes to be a part of the Virginia Feed or related Industry in the future will be reviewed by the VSFA Steering Committee and recommendations will then be made to the VSFA Scholarship Committee.

Scholarship recipients will be expected to be the guest of the VSFA at the annual winter conference in order to receive their scholarship and become acquainted with the objectives and membership of the VSFA.
